Crowns & Bridges
Custom dental crowns are designed to fit over individual teeth, rebuilding their strength and natural look seamlessly. There are several situations where Dr. Russo may recommend this restorative solution, including:
- A tooth has a severe cavity that can’t be treated with a filling.
- A tooth has been broken or cracked.
- A tooth has become weakened over time because of bruxism and/or occlusal disease.
- A tooth is misshapen and in need of cosmetic correction.
- A tooth treated with root canal therapy is in need of restoration.
- A lost tooth replaced by a dental implant is in need of restoration.
Dental crowns can also be used in conjunction with dental bridges, which are often a great tooth replacement solution for patients who aren’t the right candidate for dental implants but also don’t enjoy the relative looseness of dentures. This restoration is designed to replicate one or more teeth in a row, and the crowns are placed as “anchors” over nearby healthy teeth to hold them securely in place. At our Orlando practice, both dental crowns and bridges typically require two to three appointments to complete, allowing us to ensure the most precise and sturdy fit possible for your unique smile.
