What are my options for whiter teeth?
Over time, deposits from tobacco, coffee, soft drinks, and tea can leave yellow- or orange-tinged stains on teeth. Other causes of stains include tetracycline exposure and fluorosis. Depending on the cause of stains and your goals, Dr. Russo may recommend take-home whitening trays, in-office whitening with Zoom!, or permanent whitening with porcelain veneers. After a consultation, he can recommend the treatment that’s appropriate for your smile.

What treatments do you offer to replace missing teeth?
Missing teeth can lead to a host of dental problems, including shifting of remaining teeth, higher risk of gum disease, and gum and bone loss. We offer several solutions to restore your smile and improve your oral health. Dr. Russo has training and experience with prosthodontics (replacement teeth) and will recommend the treatment that will best address your concerns. He may suggest a fixed bridge, a partial denture, a full denture, or dental implants. As the closest prosthetic to natural teeth, dental implants offer unrivaled support, comfort, and longevity.

How is gum disease related to my overall health?
Recent studies have linked gum disease to cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes, and other systemic diseases. In fact, research shows that patients with gum disease have a mortality rate that is 23 to 46 percent higher than patients without gum disease. A chronic infection of the gums and bone, periodontal disease causes an immune reaction in the blood vessel linings. The resulting constricted blood flow and increased stress on the immune system combine to increase a patient’s risk for a variety of health concerns. We can help you prevent gum disease from starting, and we offer periodontal maintenance to restore periodontal health for patients needing treatment.

Do you see kids?
Yes! We love kids and value the opportunity to instill positive oral hygiene habits in them from a young age. The first regular exam and cleaning is at age three. Dr. Russo and our team look forward to helping children have a positive experience in our office. Overhead TVs help provide a pleasant distraction while the hygienist cleans your child’s teeth. We also educate children about proper techniques and offer preventive treatments, such as fluoride and sealants. Call today and schedule appointments for your whole family.
